DEARBORN SUBDIVISION FOOTNOTES

1 RULE MODIFICATIONS

1.1 CLEARANCES

ROUGE-All trains originating require clearance.

Dearborn Subdivision trains originating at Flat Rock must obtain clearance at Flat Rock.

1.2 TRAIN REGISTER MODIFICATIONS

FLAT ROCK -*Register station for trains originating and terminating.

ROUGE -*Standard Clock and Bulletins only.

1.3 GTOR Rule 104B is not applicable at dual control switches. A signal maintainer will handle dual control or power switches in CTC.

2 GENERAL FOOTNOTES

2.1 D&I JUNCTION - Contact Yardmaster Flat Rock for movement against the current of traffic between mileage 0.0 and mileage 2.8.

2.2 ROUGE - Contact Yardmaster Rouge for movement against the current of traffic between mileage 9.2 and mileage 13.6.

2.3 Sidings of an assigned direction must not be used in reverse direction unless authorized by Superintendent or an emergency under flag protection.

3 INTERLOCKINGS

3.1 Railway crossing at grade.

CR.... Mileage 6.0.... Semi-Automatic.

Route through interlocking will be automatically established when approach circuit is occupied by train or locomotive and after Train Dispatcher has requested a route by the use of the code control system. Southbound approach circuit extends from 10,750 feet north of advance signal (Sig. 7-1) to southbound interlocking signal. Northbound approach circuit extends from 12,350 feet south of Penn to northbound interlocking signal.

After train or locomotive has occupied approach for 12 minutes, route will be released, and the interlocking signal will display GTOR Rule 292. To reestablish route, train or locomotive must occupy reclear circuit located between interlocking signal and points designated by yellow paint 100 feet ahead of interlocking signal.

This same reclear circuit must be occupied after making a movement through interlocking limits, then desiring to return to train. Train or locomotive entering interlocking limits must make complete through move.

If for any reason the plant becomes inoperative, a member of the crew will open the emergency release box mounted on the CR relay houses in the southeast quadrant of the crossing and be governed by instructions posted therein. Inform train dispatcher of the interlocking plant failure.

GT and CR Dispatcher circuits are located in CR phone box on CR relay house in southeast quadrant of crossing and in GT phone box at interchange track switch on east side of track.

3.2 Railway crossing at grade.

NW.... Mileage 10.7 .... Controlled.

Contact N&W Operator through Yardmaster Rouge Yard.

3.3 Railway crossing at grade.

CR.... Mileage 13.5.... Mechanical.

4 EQUIPMENT RESTRICTIONS

4.1 Cars exceeding 315,000 lbs. gross must be covered by handling instructions.

4.2 All 6 axle locomotives are prohibited from operating on all tracks other than Main Track.

4.3 Hi-cube box cars and all other long cars with 64 foot or over truck centers are restricted on tracks No. 8 and 8A, Socony Mobil, Trenton.

4.4 Equipment 60 feet or longer cannot be handled through double crossover to move from one end of Penford Siding to the other.

4.5 Special Instruction 7.25, cars containing flammable compressed gas, applies between mileage 0.0 and mileage 15.3.

5 ELECTRICALLY LOCKED HAND-OPERATED SWITCHES

5.1 Mileage 2.9 release circuit extends 100 feet north and south of switches. Mileage 5.2 release circuit extends 100 feet north and south of switches. Mileage 5.9

Be governed by GTOR Rule 104 C and Special Instruction 1.5. Contact Train Dispatcher Flat Rock before removing padlock from keeper.

6 NON-ELECTRICALLY LOCKED HAND-OPERATED SWITCHES WITHIN CTC TERRITORY

6.1 At the following locations, trains are prohibited from clearing in a track not equipped with an electric lock switch within CTC territory.

7 SPRING SWITCHES

7.1 Mileage 2.3 Fordhaven normal position lined for Southward Track.

7.2 Mileage 4.4 Penn normal position lined for Northward Track.

7.3 Mileage 9.2 Park normal position lined for Northward Track. Special Instruction 1.4 applies.

8 CROSSOVERS BETWEEN MAIN TRACKS
